Loacker's wafer production

Aguntum

The old Roman town of Aguntum is situated in Dölsach on both sides of the B100. In the 2 museums you can learn a great deal about life in a Roman settlement around AD 50. The red lookout tower affords the best overall view of the former Roman town.

Vitalpinum - mountain pine oil distillery

Vitalpinum is in Thal, right beside the main road and opposite the local swimming baths. In the in-house exhibition distillery you can observe how the ethereal oils are produced and in the shop you can purchase the top-quality products from the Unterweger brothers’ First Tyrolean Mountain Pine Oil Distillery.

Villgrater Natur

This workshop is concerned predominantly with articles made from sheep’s wool. The products range from woollen socks and felt slippers to Loden gilets or seat cushions, in addition to many other regional products. The mountain sheep that provide the basic products such as wool, milk and meat live all year round at around 2,000m above sea level.

Assling game park

The game park in Assling is located on a sunny plateau in East Tyrol’s Puster valley – an ideal setting for wild animals. Here you can observe from close range over 30 different species of animals such as marmots, wild boars, lynx and also birds of prey. For the younger visitors there is a pets’ corner with guinea pigs and rabbits. A further attraction is the summer toboggan run.
